Job Description

Lutheran Hospital’s LIII NICU, part of Lutheran Health Network, is looking for a full time Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team of Neonatologists, Nurse Practitioners and skilled Newborn Intensive Care Nurses in the greater Ft. Wayne, IN area.  Lutheran Health Network is the largest healthcare provider in the region with eight separately licensed hospitals and nearly 1,000 licensed beds including 793 in Allen County alone.

  • 24 bed Level III NICU at Lutheran
  • Work alongside 6 BC Neonatologists who are part of Pediatrix/Mednax
  • Scheduled shift work, primarily 12 hour shifts with weekend/holiday 24 hour shifts
  • Wide range of pediatric subspecialties (Intensivists, hospitalists, cardiology, NICU follow-up clinic)
  • Ground neonatal transports with occasional NNP transport attendance requirement
  • Level II Pediatric trauma center
  • Pediatric surgery on site
  • Whole body cooling program
  • Active High Risk Maternal-Fetal Medicine program
  • Vermont Oxford Network Member
  • Renovated NICU space
  • Requirements and duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Board Certification
  • Attendance at high risk deliveries
  • Occasional transport attendance
  • Participate in staff education
  • Quality improvement activities
  • Central line placement
  • Airway management
  • Thoracentesis
  • Ventilator management as well as inhaled nitric oxide
  • Management of post-operative neonatal patients.

Lutheran Hospital is a 396-bed tertiary care facility that opened on Thanksgiving Day in 1904.
