Job Description

Lutheran Health Physicians (LHP) seeks Pulmonary/Critical Care specialists for our community hospitals and our Level II Trauma Center. Multiple positions available, including either a 12 hour DAYTIME ONLY or NOCTURNIST shift schedule. These exceptional opportunities include the option of being part of a syndicated facility with partial physician ownership, collaborative leadership with a service area of 1.2 million people.   • Option to practice either as an Intensivist (7on/7off), or a mix of OP Pulmonary and IP Intensivist
  • Evaluation of unstable floor patients
  • Interacts with and triages transfers from outside facilities
  • Responds to all code blue alerts
  • Responds to rapid responses when able and when asked by house nursing supervisor
  • Responsible for cross coverage on 40-50 ICU beds
  • APP support as part of critical care team
  • Active support from interventional radiology, cardiology and cardio-thoracic among other specialties

Location Description

Lutheran Hospital is a 396-bed tertiary care facility that opened on Thanksgiving Day in 1904. Lutheran’s areas of specialized care include northern Indiana’s only heart and kidney transplant programs, an accredited bariatric surgery program, Level II verified adult and pediatric trauma centers, an accredited and commended community hospital cancer care program and a certified primary stroke center. In addition to transplantation, Lutheran’s trailblazing history of heart care is evident through its accreditations as a heart failure institute and chest pain center. It has also achieved advanced certification from The Joint Commission for ventricular assist devices and was the first hospital in northern Indiana to perform transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
