Job Description

Dupont Hospital, a physician owned hospital, and Lutheran Medical Group in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a quality Nurse Midwife to provide well-woman, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care to patients with uncomplicated obstetrical and gynecological needs. Participates in taking medical histories, assesses medical condition and prepares patient care plans. Prepares and maintains records, writes reports, and responds to correspondence. Seeks consultation from all members of the health care team in accordance with nurse midwifery protocols. Manages postpartum course, including instruction, referrals and follow-up. Provides 24-hour on call coverage to caseload of obstetrical patients, including telephone triage. Identifies, manages and consults for obstetrical emergencies.

The Nurse Midwife participates in/supports a team-based approach to care in the Patient Centered Specialty Practice (PCSP) and participates in activities related to Quality Improvement.

You will also have access to a multidisciplinary group of OB/GYNs, Surgeons, and Specialists in Ft. Wayne, IN.  Our medical group is a long standing team of reputable and quality providers who work collaboratively with administration, one and another, and our community.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nurse-Midwifery. Certified by ACNM.
  • Must possess current Indiana Registered Nurse license and Indiana Nurse Midwife license.
  • Current CPR.
  • One year of professional nursing experience in an OB setting.

The new state of the art office will be located on the corner of Lima and Carroll Road. It is a new office that will be a mix of established and new growth opportunities. The call is 1:10.
