The Hospital
Longview Regional Hospital is a fully accredited 133-bed acute care community hospital with physicians on staff in more than 30 fields of specialty. The hospital’s comprehensive services include everything from robotic surgery with the region’s first state-of-the-art DaVinci 3-D surgical system, to Open Heart surgery, to the only MRI-guided breast biopsy services in the community. Longview Regional has long focused on the individual with admirable results: 93% physician satisfaction, 94% patient satisfaction, and 99% employee satisfaction!
Hospital services include a dedicated unit for Geriatric care; Bariatric surgery, Cardiac rehab program; designated Level III Trauma services; extensive Occupational Medicine services to local industries; the area’s only Hospital-based skilled nursing facility; Sleep Lab; a $4.7 million Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging center with MRI and latest generation CT capabilities, and much more.
The Community
Longview, with a city population of about 77,000 and a service area population of over 100,000, is the second largest community on Interstate between Dallas (two hours west) and Shreveport, LA (one hour east). Longview’s location gives its residents the ability to experience small town life while taking advantage of the attractions that surrounding cities provide.
The city, a regional hub for business, commerce and healthcare, sits in the Piney forests of east Texas, near some of the state’s best fishing and boatinglakes. Schools
Longview is served by several award-winning school districts. Longview Independent School District is recognized by School/Match as being in the top 15 percent in the nation, and was selected for the 2002 11th Annual "What Parents Want" Award. PEP School is a Texas School of Excellence and has been nominated as a National School of Excellence-Blue Ribbon School in the No Child Left Behind Program of the Department of Education. Pine Tree Independent School District is recognized consistently by the nation's largest school selection consulting firm, SchoolMatch of Columbus, OH, as one of the top 15% in the nation, receiving the "What Parents Want" Award. In addition, Pine Tree High School was awarded Gold Performance Acknowledgments for Advanced Placement Exam results, College Admissions and commendations for Writing Test results by the Texas Education Agency. Also, Longview High School recently implemented the International Baccalaureate Program, one of only a handful of Texas schools with this distinguished curriculum for students.
