Cleveland City and Bradley County School Systems have been among the 24 Tennessee communities to be awarded the Governor's A+ designation for Community Commitment to Excellence. They have maintained this designation since 1990. In addition, Cleveland offers private school alternatives, and for those who would like to home school, a viable support network is available. Higher education includes: Cleveland State Community College, Lee University and the Church of God Theological Seminary. In addition to the higher education in Cleveland, neighboring counties afford the opportunity to attend University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Chattanooga State Community College and Bryan College.
