Job Description

Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital, located in the heart of Northern Indiana lake country and part of the Lutheran Health Network, seeks to recruit a BC/BE Pediatrician for 2024 to be a full-time partner in a thriving outpatient pediatric practice ("Pediatric Health Care") in a small community setting. 

  • The candidate will join with one other full-time Pediatrician (Dr. Dillon) and a Nurse Practitioner with a possible future hire of another pediatrician for a total of three full-time physicians
  • Pediatric Hospitalist/PICU and Neonatologists/NICU are readily available for consultations
  • Call schedule is flexible but all efforts will be made so that call will be shared evenly (1 in 3)
  • Seeking a Physician willing to do both inpatient and outpatient (rounding and attending difficult situations to take over upon birth).

Hospital duties include:

  • Healthy newborn visits
  • Management of non-critical transient problems encountered during neonatal period (e.g., jaundice, hypoglycemia, TTN, rule-out sepsis) that can be managed at a Level 1 nursery
  • Routine acute illness admissions for pediatric patients outside of the newborn period
  • Attendance at C-sections or vaginal deliveries ONLY when requested by OB, if problems are anticipated 
  • Occasional resuscitation and stabilization of newborns until transfer to facility with higher level of care

Location Description

Kosciusko Community Hospital is located in Warsaw, Indiana and is centrally located between Fort Wayne, Indiana and Chicago. This 72-bed facility is a member of the Lutheran Health Network and has achieved 100 Top Hospital status from Thomason Reuters as recently as 2011. KCH offers a newly renovated 14-bed intensive care unit and an 18-bed emergency department. Services include cardiology, women’s services, oncology, orthopedic surgery, diagnostic services, wellness and weight management, wound care, ophthalmology, obstetrics, inpatient and outpatient surgery, occupational health, urgent care, ENT clinics and rehabilitation services.

In addition to being “The Orthopedic Capital of the World,” the Warsaw community is also known for its outdoor recreation including golf, hiking trails, lakes, parks, fishing and hunting. Housing is very affordable and the public and private schools are excellent. Warsaw is also home to Grace College, a private Christian college.
