Oro Valley Hospital is seeking a Board Certified Adult Mental Health & Psychiatry Physician for a Medical Directorship. BHU Medical Director participates as a senior manager in planning, developing, organizing, and directing all Behavioral Health Department programs (BHU and IOP) for Northwest Health Care.

- The Behavioral Unit has a 17 Bed Unit
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the staff psychiatrist, contracted psychiatrist and other contracted medical personnel.
- Provides medical direction to various classifications as assigned in the Behavioral Health Department clinical programs.
- Provides medical supervision and direction to Behavioral Health Unit clinical programs.
- Ensures appropriate training of Department medical staff in accordance with current standards of behavioral health practice and professional licensure as appropriate.
- Consults on the Department program planning, service design and evaluation.
- Assists with representing the Department with community organizations, health providers and other entities.
- Serves as Medical Director for the Behavioral Health Department Services including IOP.
- Appropriately manages the most sensitive public complaints and issues, represents the Department in public settings, and serves as the primary Department spokesperson on medical and psychiatric issues.
- Selects, assigns, directs and evaluates the performance of Medical providers under their charge and participates in determining qualifications, skills and training needs for multidisciplinary program staff.
- Rounding and involved in the care of BHU patients on the BHU and IOP as appropriate.
