Job Description

Lutheran Hospital is seeking an Urgent Care Medical Director for its expanding Redimed practices, currently in six locations. Redimed not only provides general urgent care services to our community, but also contracts with many local companies for their business health and occupational health needs.   Fort Wayne, IN is an ideal area for families, with a low cost of living, lakes, vibrant neighborhoods, and that big city, small-town feel. 

We are looking for a MD/DO with strong customer service skills who may have had prior director experience or a practicing provider looking to move into a leadership role. This position replaces our current medical director who is retiring.

  • DOT certification and MRO certification are strongly preferred, but will help obtain
  • Occupational medicine experience preferred but not required
  • Searching for a physician who has the leadership abilities to maintain a collaborative work environment, motivate employees, and spearhead any issues that may arise
  • Opportunity to use both clinical skills and business expertise in this role
  • Background in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Ideally, incoming medical director will provide a 30% administrative and
  •  70% clinical/oversight mix

Lutheran Hospital is a 396-bed tertiary care facility that opened on Thanksgiving Day in 1904. Lutheran’s areas of specialized care include northern Indiana’s only heart and kidney transplant programs, an accredited bariatric surgery program, Level II verified adult and pediatric trauma centers, an accredited and commended community hospital cancer care program and a certified primary stroke center. In addition to transplantation, Lutheran’s trailblazing history of heart care is evident through its accreditations as a heart failure institute and chest pain center. It has also achieved advanced certification from The Joint Commission for ventricular assist devices and was the first hospital in northern Indiana to perform transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
