AllianceHealth Durant is a 148-bed, acute-care hospital that continues to gain recognition for clinical excellence and efficient delivery of care. From routine checkups to complex surgery, and with a medical staff of over 100 physicians, AllianceHealth Durant covers a wide spectrum of healthcare services. Recent construction projects include 20 new private patient rooms, endoscopy surgery suite, surgery waiting area, an eight-bed addition to the PCU a new education area and renovation of the hospital's emergency room to include 20 private exam rooms.

- Durant Middle School teaches grades 7 and 8.

- Southeastern University is considered the ’University of Choice’ for Southeastern Oklahoma and Northern Texas. Enrollment reached 5,237 for the Durant Main Campus and six branch campuses. There are twenty Bachelor of Arts Degree Programs and twenty-six Bachelor of Science Degree Programs offered in addition to Business Administration, Music, Music Education and General Studies. Master’s Degree Programs are offered in the fields of Business, Behavioral Studies, Education, Aviation Technology and Occupational Safety and Health.
