Medical Director of Hospitalist Program-211 beds Hattiesburg, MS

Merit Health Wesley is seeking a Medical Director for its Hospitalist Program at a 211-bed facility. Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership for the hospitalist program
• Oversee inpatient care delivery and support physician team performance
• Ensure adherence to hospital quality metrics and patient safety initiatives
• Participate in clinical care including admissions, rounding, and inpatient management
• Perform and support procedures including:
  • Central line placement
  • Intubations
  • Code response and resuscitation management
• Collaborate with hospital administration, nursing leadership, and specialty services
• Support scheduling, workflow optimization, and program development

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
• Prior hospitalist experience required; leadership experience preferred
• Current Mississippi medical license or eligibility for licensure
• Strong procedural skills (lines, intubations, codes)
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team-building abilities
